James Gutierrez is an award-winning, international facilitation and education professional, working in executive positions with various leading businesses, non-profits, and government agencies across five continents.

He is the Founding Partner of Slate Inc., a people development and executive consulting firm, which locally contextualizes world-class tools to drive measurable results for growth-oriented professionals and organizations. He previously was the Managing Director for Fullbridge, a global education company, launching and leading the entity’s Africa operations.

James formerly was the Director of Operations for Verge Fund, an early growth-stage high-tech Venture Capital firm, and worked with the Management Teams for Olympics and Paralympics in Greece and China. He was honored as a Fulbright Scholar in Uruguay and worked in the Executive Office of the President at the White House.

James has successfully taught and facilitated sessions for tens of thousands of professionals from wide-ranging organizations such as GE, AMD, SciencesPo University, Peace Corps, XPO, University of Cape Town, Potential Energy, Mastercard Foundation, Georgetown University, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, among many others. He was the Lead Facilitator for the IMF Board Retreat in 2025.

He holds graduate degrees in Business (MBA) and Public Policy (MPP) with a focus on International and Global Affairs respectively from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University.
