Tru Pettigrew is a celebrated author, dynamic speaker, committed community leader, and award-winning marketing executive with over 20 years of experience at some of the nation’s top advertising and marketing agencies. From 2020 to 2024, Tru served with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx of the NBA and WNBA, where he made history as the organization’s first Chief Impact Officer. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, Tru played a pivotal role in leading team discussions on race and social justice, and in fostering dialogue between the team, the Minneapolis Police Department, and other civic leaders.

Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Tru helps individuals and organizations harness their talents, passions, and platforms to create meaningful change. His work centers on four key areas of impact: social, cultural, community, and economic — all aimed at uplifting others and advancing equity.

Above all, Tru finds his greatest joy and pride in his family. He lives in Cary, North Carolina, with his wife of 23 years, Tameka, and their 13-year-old son, Austin, who they lovingly refer to as their young prince.
