Judy Watts is a doctoral candidate in the school of communication at The Ohio State University where she studies the persuasive effects of entertainment and narratives on individuals. More specifically, she studies children’s learning from educational media and adult attitudes on social topics as a result of media exposure. Judy is primarily a quantitative researcher with experience in qualitative methods.
Before pursuing her Ph.D., Ms. Watts worked in local government agencies in Bend, Oregon and Little Rock, Arkansas where she directed outreach efforts to capture public feedback on long-term community planning processes. Ms. Watts has previously been active on several boards involving organizing an annual Earth Day event as well as founding Yogathon Arkansas, a nonprofit that encourages people to try yoga classes.
In her spare time, Judy enjoys time with her rescue dog Simon, attempting to grow a vegetable garden, and vegan cooking.
